Major League Gaming offers Halo 3 LAN, training camps, tournaments with cash prizes!

Major League Gaming (MLG) is bringing the excitement of competitive gaming to E for All in a very big way, including Halo 3! MLG has planned competitions and activities throughout E for All Expo, with cash prizes for tournament winners.

Old school Halo champions rejoice! You'll be able to test your skills in Halo: Combat Evolved (the first Halo game) in LAN and tournament play -- a one-day FFA and a 2-day 4v4 tournament. Also look for Halo 2 in LAN play.

Halo 3, the fastest-selling video game in history, will be featured in LAN competitions, bracketed tournaments and in special daily Get Better First(tm) Training Camps.  This is a unique opportunity to find out how good your game is and to learn from MLG pros and staff how to get better before all your friends do!  The training camps will start with a short instructional session with live commentary over classic match footage. Right after that's done, participants will play a live-commentated match on the main stage just like MLG Pros, and then get feedback from MLG pros and staff. Registration is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis; due to the title's M rating, all Halo 3 competitions and training camps are limited to players 17 and older.

In addition to Halo, EA Sports' NBA Live will be featured in LAN and tournament play, with cash prizes for the tournament winners.  MLG will also run LAN competitions for three additional titles: Gears of War (for players 17 and older), Shadowrun, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas.   Come meet and watch some of the top Halo players in the world including MLG Pros Walshy, Karma, Tsquared.  They'll be on hand each day to play games and to sign autographs.

Make sure to visit the MLG Web site to pre-register for the events you're interested in.  A limited number of special gamer passes are available at no charge to participants who pre-register--so sign up now!

Is it possible they will do this with Super Smash Bros. Brawl as well?

Kash: Checking the Web site, I don't think so. But Brawl is still pre-release, so it's not a surprise. No one has the game yet, so how can we compete?
