Rock Band Mobile Tour Comes to E for All

Harmonix, MTV Games and Electronic Arts (EA) are bringing the Rock Band mobile tour to E for All, courtesy of the Rock Band tour bus. Now you can give Rock Band a try before the game is released in November and compete for a trip to New York City to hang with real rock stars!

Rock Band is definitely one of the most anticipated games of the year. It takes what you're familiar with from games like Guitar Hero and turns the volume up to 11. This music game lets you and up to three friends become rock stars by playing guitar, bass, drums or singing in time with what's happening on the screen.

Songs that Rock Band mobile tour participants will be able to try out run the gamut from classics like “Detroit Rock City” by Kiss and “Paranoid” by Black Sabbath, to newer songs like “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” by Jet and “Main Offender” by The Hives.

For all four days of the show, starting this Thursday, Oct. 18, you'll be able to try your hand at a "Rock Off" audition, sponsored by MTV. If you play on the Rock Band tour bus main stage, you'll be recorded on video and viewed by MTV casting directors, who will choose two bands to be flown to New York City to spend a day with a real rock band and receive "rock star training." The bands will also be featured on MTV's hugely popular show TRL -- one band will even open on a real stage with a real rock band at the Rock Band launch concert.

The Rock Band mobile tour is in the midst of a 24-city tour from one side of the country to the other. Players get the chance to master lead guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals either as solo artists or cooperatively with other players, using special peripherals included with the game.
