Scott Blog
Contacts
Along the right side of any Member Dashboard page, underneath the member profile (aka the Baseball Card) and the advertising, you may have noticed the Contacts list. Did I hear someone ask, "What are Contacts?" I’m glad you asked...
A Member’s Contacts list is made up of other E for All Community Members-similar to a MySpace or Facebook friends list. Any Member can manually add any other Member to their Contacts list. If someone adds you to their list, they won’t be automatically added to yours, but the system will let you know when you are added to another Member’s Contacts. In addition, whenever any of your Contacts post a blog it will appear on your Member Dashboard page in the "Your Contacts - Recently Added" section.
In addition to keeping track of what your Contacts are blogging about, building your Contacts list is a great way to network with other E for All Exhibitors, Attendees and gaming enthusiasts. We’re excited about this feature because, unlike most social networking websites, the contacts that we make online will be able to connect face-to-face at the event in October.
So how does it work? If you’re interested in adding someone to your list, every Member page contains a link that says "Add Contact" under the Member’s profile/Baseball Card. Click that link, and you will arrive on a confirmation page. After clicking "Add" the Member will appear in your Contacts list. We’re working on a solution to simplify and improve the interaction. Give it a try! Register as a Community Member (if you haven’t already), head to my Member homepage and add me to your Contacts list.
