EA to promote Facebreaker this September
Arcade boxing game will arrive on Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii under the new EA Sports Freestyle label this fall, the company said on Tuesday.
Originally planned for release this June, Electronic Arts today confirmed that Facebreaker will ship this September. The title, being developed by EA Canada, is described as an exaggerated boxing game that borrows heavily from Mike Tyson's Punch-Out.
Facebreaker will be the first of several arcade sports games to be released under the newly announced Freestyle label, which aims to appease the growing number of Wii owners and casual gamers.
EA Sports president Peter Moore explains (via Shack News): "EA Sports Freestyle will be a perfect complement to our core portfolio of games that our loyal fans are deeply passionate about. [The brand] will provide compelling opportunities for new audiences looking for a lighter gaming experience and an easier entry point into EA Sports."
